Portable and his artist attacked during cloth shopping in Lekki



After being assaulted in Lekki, Nigerian Street Pop icon Portable is back in the news.

Portable has become a ubiquitous name due to his music, fashion, and troubleshooting antics, which have brought him fame and success.


In yet another unfortunate occurrence, Portable was assaulted in Lekki on August 8, 2023, while out shopping with his entourage.


In a video posted to his Instagram story, Portable asserts that he was shopping for clothes for his artist, Yung Duu, in Lekki when he and his artist, who sustained facial injuries, were attacked by street boys.


Portable reveals that the boys approached him while he was out shopping, claiming to be admirers and demanding money. After he refused to give them money, the boys disclosed that they are members of a cult and that today, August 8, is the date of their 8/8 celebrations, before harassing him.


Portable states in the video that he will exact vengeance on his assailants whenever they enter Sango Tedo, where he resides. Portable launched into a protracted tirade in which he boasted of being heavily fortified and a member of an opposing cult.


Today's event is yet another controversy that has become the norm for Portable, who neglected to indicate in the lengthy video whether he would report the incident to the police.
