In the Oba Akran Ikeja neighborhood of Lagos State, chaos broke out when an unidentified helicopter plummeted into a building and caught fire.
The incident occurred in close proximity to AP Filling Station and United Bank For Africa, Oba Akran.
According to witnesses, the incident occurred around 3.30 p.m.
It was unclear as of press time whether the helicopter's pilots had survived. As the rescue operation by the initial emergency responders is ongoing, it is unclear if there are additional casualties.
The Lagos Fire and Rescue Service is awaiting the arrival of additional personnel in order to salvage the situation.
