Elon Musk has pledged to pay the legal fees of users who have been mistreated by employers due to their posts, despite reportedly owing Africans who worked for Twitter when he acquired the platform.

On Sunday, August 6, 2023, Elon Musk declared the decision via a tweet, stating that there is no limit to the amount of support he can provide to users who have been maltreated for expressing their opinions on the platform.

Users have responded to the billionaire's statement, with some praising him and others claiming that it is an attempt to shield users from the repercussions of their actions. According to reports, legislators interrogated a Nigerian ministerial nominee, Bosun Tijani, about controversial tweets he made in the past.

In one of his tweets, Tijani referred to Nigerian Senators as idiots and Nigeria as a costly label. The ministerial nominee from the state of Ogun expressed regret and anger over the deleted tweets.
