Iya Gbonkan, a veteran Nollywood actress, has received a N5 million donation for her vehicle and house project, and her colleagues, including Abeni Agbon and Tamo Tiye, have thanked Nigerians for their generosity.
Recall that Iya Gbonkan, a 64-year-old actress who primarily appears in Yoruba films, stated in a viral video that despite being prominent and working in the industry for years, she does not own a car.
Agbala Gabriel, a well-known prophet in Ibadan, acted swiftly to make her dream a reality by soliciting funds from generous people all over the globe.
Over 5 million dollars have been donated to her car and housing initiatives thus far. In a recently circulated video, Pastor Gabriel paid Iya Gbonkan a visit in Osogbo.
The Nollywood actresses Abeni Agbon and Tamotiye, who reside nearby, also visited her home and donated N500,000.
They are also captured professing gratitude and praying for those who supported Iya Gbonkan following her online plea for help.
Iya Gbonkan also thanked the Nigeians in Yoruba, saying, "I'm grateful, but I have no power; you are my backbone; you will not weary. My issue will not weary you out, and you will not feel indebted for the favor you are performing for me. In the name of God, you will be able to spend freely. You will not experience suffering, and you will not become blind, in the name of God."
Iya Gbonkan requests that Nigerians purchase her a car, stating that she used to walk and take the bus despite her lengthy career in the film industry.
