Seun Kuti regains freedom from police custody 

Seun Kuti, an Afrobeats singer, has finally cleared the air following his release from the Lagos State Police Command.

The music star, who was detained at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCID, Yaba, Lagos, on the orders of a Yaba Chief Magistrate Court for assaulting a police officer, was ultimately released on May 23 at night.

Seun Kuti thanked his wife, colleagues, and family on his official Instagram page for their support during his difficult times.

He stated, "I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has shown me so much affection. All my friends were present! Thanks in particular to my lovely wife, @chefyeidekuti."

He also thanked a member of his family, remarking that, despite being an orphan, he is supported by caring relatives.

He added; “I be orphan o but family deeeey!! @femiakuti @madekuti @yeniakuti @mopcentre @funkekut and Lande Ransome-Kuti.”

In addition, he praises his legal team for their kindness while he was detained at Panti.
