In a recent interview, Alhaji Miniru Olatunji Balogun, the father of popular Nigerian singer Wizkid, gave thanks to God for granting him a son as illustrious as the Grammy Award winner.

Wizkid's father stated in his interview statement that he arrived in Lagos in 1972, when there was no electricity in Alaba.

Wizkid's father, when discussing his contribution to the development of Alaba, states that he used his influence to have Nepa conduct a full survey of Alaba and provide them with light.

According to him, he planned, drafted, and sketched the entire Alaba, presented it to the Nepa board, and received approval. He added that two weeks later, in 1972, the entire Alaba was illuminated.

Wizkid's father elaborated on his son's character by stating that he is the baba adeen of the Alaba central mosque and the former APC chairman for 14 years.

He concluded by thanking God for his continued existence and the continued success of his son, Wizkid.
