Nigerian singer Davido has claimed that he and his wife Chioma wed in order to be stronger as a family for one another after losing their baby Ifeanyi.
The singer, who released his highly anticipated Timeless album on Friday, revealed that he has been through a lot of hardships recently and that he needed to be strong for Chioma to face their sad moment as a couple rather than simply as her lover.
We experienced a lot together at that time, and in order to get through it and prepare for Timeless, we had to be there for one another. It's time to prove to the world that I am prepared for this now that we have passed that threshold.
The Afrobeat mega star claimed that "Timeless" went through at least three different stages before arriving at its ultimate form. And while there are tracks with a lot of high energy and “good vibes,” he said grieving the loss of his son had some impact on the project. “Before my son passed on, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation and I really had to calm myself down and take a step back,” he said.
“On the album, you will hear a couple of songs that might take you back and into some emotions … you will definitely hear me talk about a couple of things I’ve been through personally,” he added.
