Over the course of two weeks in October 2020, thousands of young people organized and marched through major cities across the nation, demanding an end to decades of police brutality and other forms of injustice.

Many Nigerians will gather on Thursday at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos State to commemorate the second anniversary of the widespread # EndeSARS demonstrations and the Lekki Massacre in 2020.

Over the course of two weeks in October 2020, thousands of young people organized and marched through major cities across the nation, demanding an end to decades of police brutality and other forms of injustice.

The purpose of the memorial is to honor the people who were killed by state agents at the Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020, while they were sitting on the ground, singing the national anthem, and waving the national flag.

Even though President Muhammadu Buhari has made it harder for people to protest in public, public leaders have said that the second commemoration will take place at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos and in other cities across the country.
