Chukwuebuka Obi-Uchendu (born July 14, 1982), professionally known as Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, is a prominent Nigerian attorney and media figure. He is well known for his stint as a host on the renowned reality show Big Brother Naija.


Born in Edo, Nigeria, he earned a law degree from the University of Abuja. He worked as an attorney for several years before pursuing a career in the media. Since then, he has presented numerous television programs and is presently a host of Big Brother Naija.

Childhood And Education

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was born in Benin City, Edo State, on July 14, 1982, to a banker father, Chief Ezeagada of Okija, and a nurse mother. He is the third child of four. There are three siblings in his family: an older sister, an older brother, and a younger brother. His elder sister is named Iphie Obi-Uchendu.


He completed his nursery and primary education in the city of Benin in central Nigeria and, astonishingly, passed the entrance exam for secondary school in Primary 4. Then, he and his family went to Abuja, the capital of the nation.


Ebuka Obi-Uchendu completed his secondary education at Christ the King College in Abuja before enrolling in 1997 and graduating from the University of Abuja in 2004. 


He graduated from the Nigerian Law School in Bwari, Abuja, in 2005.

In 2005, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returned to school after completing his education at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, in Abuja. 


In December 2010, he graduated from the Law and Government program at the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, DC, with a concentration in intellectual property and communications law.

Career

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was one of the 14 housemates in the first season of the renowned reality series Big Brother Naija in 2006. He was the eighth contestant eliminated from the show. He is the most famous and successful BBNaija housemate to date. In January of 2017, he was selected to host both the third and second seasons of Big Brother Nigeria.


After the 2006 reality program, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu received sponsorship arrangements from a major telecoms firm and a well-known brewery. He presented Friend or Foe on NTA, the GLO Show on NTA, and Guinness' Greatness TV as a result.


For over four years, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu also contributed a weekly piece entitled Contrast to This Day's Newspaper. Additionally, he wrote for publications such as What's New and Ace Magazines.


In 2013, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was selected as the new host of the Nigerian television chat show Rubbin' Minds.


Then, he talked to some of the most famous young people in Nigeria, like Banky W, Gbenga Sesan, Seun Kuti, Oluchi Onweagba, Davido, Japheth J. Omojuwa, and Chika Unigwe.

Personal Affairs 

On April 15, 2015, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu proposed to HR manager Cynthia Obianodo in Lagos. They tied the knot in Abuja on February 6, 2016.

On November 8, 2016, a girl named Jewel Obi-Uchendu was born to them. 


In 2018, they revealed via Instagram that they were expecting their second child. Their second daughter, also called Rubi, was named Obi-Uchendu.
