Uju Anya, an American professor of Nigerian descent who wished "excruciating death" on the dying Queen Elizabeth II, claims she is no longer in danger.
Anya, a professor of second language acquisition at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States of America, told ThePunch that her life has been in danger since since she tweeted about the Queen.

Roots of the Problem: Anya wrote on the day the Queen passed away, September 8, 2022: "I heard the chief monarch of a thieving raping genocidal kingdom is finally dying. Agonizing suffering be her lot.
The provocative statement by Anya ignited a worldwide discussion on Twitter regarding colonialism and Britain's purported assistance for the Nigerian government against the Igbos during a three-year civil war in Nigeria.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reacted to Anya's tweet by saying he does not believe someone whose job it is to make the world better should put out such a statement, which is the crux of the criticism leveled against her.
The administration at Carnegie Mellon University, where Anya teaches, has also distanced itself from the tweet, stating that it does not condone the "offensive and repulsive" comment sent by the professor.
As a result, Twitter deleted the post because it was inappropriate.
But since Thursday, the professor claims, trolls have been creating false Facebook profiles in her name and spreading smears about her.
Others, she said, have tried to use her for a political cause she doesn't support by associating her with the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
According to Anya, if the Nigerian government learns of her association with IPOB, it may treat her as a terrorist.
According to Anya,“I feel like my life is in danger. I don’t feel safe anymore because of these lies being peddled around against me. I left Facebook four years ago. I don’t have a Facebook account. People are putting out fake statements, saying I am a member and financier of IPOB or Independent Biafra or any political candidate like that, and they are using a fake Facebook account that bears my name. It is a lie. There is nothing like that.
“Some online blogs have been peddling fake rumours about me. I have not issued any statement since Thursday. The PUNCH is the first and (will be) the only Nigerian medium I have spoken to.
“It is urgent that the world knows that these people are trying to put me in harm’s way. Nothing that anybody sees with my name on Facebook is true. I am not a member of IPOB.
“They are using me for political movements and messages that I do not align with, and they are seriously damaging me and my safety.
“This is going to be a huge problem for me. What if the Nigerian government considers me a terrorist and wants to arrest me? They are putting my life in danger.”
Anya, unrepentant after the backlash that followed her offensive remark, has since doubled down on her contempt for the Queen.
Anya had previously questioned the legitimacy of the late Queen's crown in an interview with the news outlet The CUT.
According to her, Elizabeth's crown was "plundered from the lands they exploited and extracted."
